Odem-Edroy ISD
Safety Policy
Odem-Edroy ISD is committed to providing a safe and healthful work environment for all our employees and others that may work, visit or enter our facilities. To the greatest degree possible, management will provide all mechanical and physical facilities required for personal safety and health in keeping with the highest standards.

We will maintain a safety and health program conforming to the best practices of school districts. To be successful, such a program must embody the proper attitudes toward injury and illness prevention on the part of both supervisors and employees. It also requires cooperation in all safety and health matters, not only between supervisor and employee, but also between each employee and his or her fellow workers. Only through such a cooperative effort can a safety program, in the best interest of all, be established and preserved.

Our objective is a safety and health program that will reduce the number of injuries and/or illness to an absolute minimum, not merely in keeping with, but surpassing, the best experience of other school districts. Our goal is ZERO accidents and injuries! To meet this objective, the following steps will be taken:

1 We will make every effort to provide a working environment that is free from any recognized or potential hazards.
2 We will emphasize that the success of a safety and health program is contingent and dependent upon support from the administrative level of management down to involvement of all employees of Odem-Edroy ISD.
3 The management is committed to allocating and providing all of the resources needed to promote and effectively implement the Accident Prevention Plan.
4 The management will establish avenues to solicit and receive comments, information and assistance from all employees where safety and health is concerned.
5 Odem-Edroy ISD will comply with all safety and health regulations established by Federal and State agencies

Safety and health in our school must be part of every operation. Without question, it is every employee’s responsibility at all levels. Your cooperation in detecting and controlling hazards is a condition of your employment. Inform your supervisor immediately of any situation beyond your ability or authority to correct.
